About the Journal

The Journal of Science and Technology (JOST) is an International online Journal of Engineering that has been established in the Faculty of Engineering at Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria. The aim of this bi-annual journal is to publish scholarly and high-quality articles based on theoretical and empirical works from different fields of Science and Technology for sustainable development through evaluation of the application and performance of new and technological breakthrough in the fields of Journal of Science and Technology. Its articles shall be published in the months of January and July. In this third edition, the Journal of Science and Technology (JOST) hopes to publish science and technology research articles in the areas of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics & Industrial Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry, Physics & Industrial Physics, Zoology (Animal and Environmental Biology), Biochemistry, Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology, Plant Science and Biotechnology, Soil Science and Biotechnology, Crop Science and Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Animal Science and Fisheries, Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development, Architecture, Building Technology, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning, Surveying and Geo-Informatics, Fine and Applied Arts, Geography and Environmental Management. Articles from other Science, Technology, and Engineering fields relevant to societal development as determined by the editorial board shall also be considered.

 Scope and Focus:

In this second edition. the general public comprising local and international researchers from academia and industries are requested to submit manuscripts in the above-mentioned areas.

 

Editorial Policy

Manuscript Specifications

•  Authors are required to submit only original manuscripts that have not been published or that are not under consideration for publication in other journals.

•  The required limit of similarity index for submitted manuscript for consideration is less than 25%.

• The first page the manuscript should contain the title of the research, name(s) of contributing author(s) with the affiliations and email address of the corresponding author.

 •  Abstract of the manuscript should not be more than 250 words; a list of 3-5 keywords should be provided below the abstract.

•  The manuscript for consideration should not exceed 15 pages on AA paper size including tables, charts. graphs, appendices and references. It should be of single line spacing, 12-point of New Times Roman font.

• The reference format acceptable for the JOST Journal of Engineering is the current APA Style.

Publication Process

• Send a confirmation email to authors to acknowledge receipt of submitted manuscript; authors pay processing fee.

• Check submitted manuscript for plagiarism using plagiarism checker software.

• Check quality of manuscript.

• Send manuscript to potential reviewers for double blind peer review.

• Communicate reviewer's comments and editor's decision to the author as acceptance, rejection, or re-submit with major/minor revisions.

• Send payment request to the author after the final review has been done.

• Author deposits publication fee in a designated bank details for paper publication.
